Deacon Evins Triggs, Jr. was born on March 18, 1945, to the late Washington Bennett and DeCindy Wesley and proceeded in death by one sister Ora Mae Gray (Bishop Clarence). Evans was a dedicated employer at MIB and retired after many years of service. Evins enjoyed spending time with his family and church family.

Deacon Evins Triggs accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He joined Mt. Elizabeth M.B. Church of Jackson, MS under the leadership of the late Rev. E.B. Stamps, where he served as a deacon along with Rev. C.W. Houston and Rev. Lee Lewis. He later joined Greater Mt. Mariah M.B. Church pastored by Pastor C.W. Washington. He was a devoted member and a dedicated deacon. He was president of the prayer band and worked alone with the Mission Department faithfully. 

Deacon Evins Triggs loved to sing in the quartet groups. He sang with the Jackson Violinaires, and The Trumpeteers and have background with many other Gospel groups.

Deacon Evins Triggs fought the good fight, he kept the faith and finished the race here on earth. He transitioned to everlasting life on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at his home, where he wanted to be with his family friends and loved ones.


Visitation hours will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018, between the hours of 12-7 p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at Greater Mt. Mariah M.B. Church at 11:00 a.m. located at 3672 Medgar Evers Blvd - Jackson, MS. Interment will follow at Autumn Woods Cemetery - Jackson, MS
