Clementine Turner Roach was born to Lucene and Mary Montgomery Turner on October 16, 1921, in Hinds County, MS. She was the third child of their twelve children. Her parents preceded her in death, she was also preceded in death by her late husband, Johnnie Roach.
Clemie began her life in the Morning Star community where she was nurtured and educated by the entire community and her family. She accepted Christ at a very early age and joined the Morning Star M.B. Church in Edwards, MS. She served as superintendent of Morning Star's Sunday School and she was also a Mother in the Church. Clemie remained very involved in her church and was an active and faithful member until her health began to decline.
For 32 years, she worked for the State of Mississippi. She worked at Oakley Training School in Learned, MS. She was a house parent at the facility, guiding/ mentoring thousands of young boys from across the state.
She was a Foster Parent for the Mississippi Department of Human Services for more than ten years. Clemie had numerous interests; she enjoyed, planting flowers and trees, gardening and sewing. She had a special fondness for her cats, dogs, cows, and horses.
Visitation hours will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018, from 2-5 p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel. Wake hour will promptly follow at 5 p.m. also at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Morning Star Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. located at 11449 Old Port Gibson Road, Edwards, MS. Mrs. Roach will be in repose at Morning Star at 1:00 p.m. on March 4, 2018
