Mr. Larry Burnell Jones, Sr. was born March 11, 1947, to the Late Alonzo Jones, Jr and the late Josie Mae Jones Harris in Hinds County. He was the fifth of seven brothers and sister, one brother Arthur James "Sky Hawk" Jones preceded him in death.
Larry confessed Christ as his Personal Savior at an early age at Salem M.B. Church and was baptized under the leadership of Rev. E.G. Robinson, where he remained an active member all his life. He faithfully sang traveling with the Male Chorus wherever they had to perform cheerfully. He was known as the one on the van that would keep the laughter going and coming. Larry also sang in the Gospel Choir and faithfully attended both Bible Study and Sunday School.
Larry loved the Lord and his church family; he was the "candy man" of Salem. He gave handfuls of candy to practically everyone each Sunday he attended. Larry married the love of his life, Marilyn Brent Jones on June 8, 1968. Their union produced four sons. Sadly on the cool morning of November 7, 2018, Larry answered the call of eternal glory and transitioned peacefully with his loving and devoted wife near his side in Jackson, MS

But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now, we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face; now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 1 Corinthians 13: 10-12
