Mrs. Dorothy Lee White

Mrs. Dotothey Lee White was born to Sanders Weathersby, Sr.  and Ora Smith - Weathersby on March 26, 1944, in Crystal Springs, Mississippi; she was the second of six children. Dorothy was educated in the Copiah County School District, in 1963 she received her high school diploma from William H. Holtzclaw High School in Crystal Springs, Mississippi.

Through the years, Dorothy worked as a seamstress for Norman Shirt Makers at their three locations in Terry, Byram, and Jackson until they closed their businesses. Dorothy had been a life-long member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church where across the years she served as a Sunday School teacher of a women's class, on the kitchen committee and a member of the choir.

Dorothy met and married Thomas S. White Jr. in 1967, and to this union, they were blessed with a son and a daughter. Later, she was blessed with two granddaughters whom she loved so much and enjoyed talking to them daily.

On Friday, May 10, 2019, Dorothy transitioned from her earthly journey to eternal rest in Terry, Mississippi surrounded by some of her loving family members. 


Visitation hours will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019, from 12-7 p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home, located at 886 N. Farish Street - Jackson, Mississippi

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Salem M.B. Church, located at 20650 Midway Road - Terry, Mississippi

Interment: Salem M.B. Church Cemetery
