Mrs. Linnie J. Harris
Mrs. Linnie Robinson Harris was born in Crystal Springs, Mississippi on December 7, 1912, to Oscar and Julia Halcomb Robinson. To this union, four children were born. She was the first born of four children. Her three brothers preceded her in death (George, Albert, and Ernest).
She began her relationship with the Lord at an early age at Mt. Wade Missionary Baptist Church in Terry, Mississippi. Linnie moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1953 where she dwelled for a number of years. It was there that she met Thomas F. Harris and on May 4, 1955, they were united in holy matrimony. No children were born to this union.
She attended Jackson College (now known as Jackson State University). She taught school in Hinds and Copiah Districts during the early 1930s. After relocating to Cleveland, Ohio, she went back to school and became a licensed cosmetologist. She continued on that career path until she retired.
She relocated back to Crystal Springs, Mississippi to help care for her ailing mother in the early 70s. She reunited with Mt. Wade Missionary Baptist Church. After her mother's death, she moved to Terry, Mississippi and set up housekeeping. She loved her animals (cats, dogs, cows, etc). She was good at gardening. She planted fig and pear trees. Anything that she touched would grow and multiply beyond measure.
On Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at 7:30 A.M. God opened his eternal Heavenly Home and welcomed Linnie into everlasting rest from her labor.
