Mrs. Rubye Washington Evege, of Flora, MS transition this earthly life on Friday, November 3, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

Sister Evege was born the fifth child to Mr. Henry Lee and Lucy McElroy Washington on November 10, 1938 in Flora, MS. She confessed Christ and was baptized at the Smith Chapel M.B. Church at an early age.

Rubye was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ray Evege, parents, Deacon Henry L. Washington and Sis. Lucy Washington, sisters, Mary Jane Ealey and Anna B. Washington.

Realizing the value of an education, she  was sent to live with her namesake, Aunt Rubye Washington-Jones and Uncle John Jones. While there, she earned her high school diploma from Lanier High School in Jackson. Ruby was a caregiver by nature. Throughout her life, Ruby exemplified Ephesians 2:10 which states, "For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." And the good things are exactly what she did in tirelessly taking care of her loved ones.
