Mrs. Thelma Wansley Whtie was born on February 13, 1926, in Rankin County Mississippi to the late Mr. Frank Wansley and the late Mrs. Elizabeth Toins. She departed this life on Sunday, November 4, 2018, in Jackson, MS. She lived all of her adult life in Byram, Mississippi. She united in holy matrimony to the late Garrett White, Jr. and to this union their only daughter was born.
Thelma received her education at Marl Grove School. She worked in a variety professional such as a school bus driver for West Side School. She also was a beautician. She later further her education and became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at St. Dominic Hospital until she retired in 1988. She was a member of St Joseph M.B. Church and later years became a member of Marl Grove Chuch of Christ (Holiness) U.S.A. until her death. Thelma was a very active church member, she served a the Marl Grove Trustee Pastor-Aid Committee and an active member of the United Christian Women Ministry. Where there was a project to be done, she was always willing to help out or tell the younger ladies how to do it. She truly enjoyed being a servant of her Lord, Jesus Christ.
Visitation hours will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018, between the hours of 12-6 p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home, Family and Friends hour will also be held on Friday, November 9, 2018, from 6-7 p.m. Peoples Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018, Peoples Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Marl Grove Cemetery in Byram, MS.
