Ms. Bobbie Nell Clark was born on June 15, 1951, to Fillmore Williams and Mabel Perry in Madison, MS.
Bobbie was raised in Madison, MS and received her education at Rosa Scott High School in Madison. However, in 1968, Bobbie moved to Boston, MA to complete her high school education. In 1969, Bobbie graduated from high school in Boston, MA. Shortly afterward, she attended college in Massachusetts.
While in Boston, Bobbie met a man named Waverly who was in the military. He convinced her to move to Chicago. In 1971, Bobbie married Waverly Lee Clark, Sr. in Chicago, IL. To this union a precious baby girl was born, Rashida Clark. Bobbie started working at Illinois Bell After her divorce to Waverly in 1975, Bobbie and Rashida moved back to Jackson, MS. Bobbie began working for South Central Bell/Bell South as a telephone operator. She held this job for more than 30 years before retiring in 2004.
Additionally, after returning to Jackson, Bobbie began worshipping at the Bethlehem Temple Apostolic Church, under the leadership of Bishop Phillip Coleman. On November 13, 1980, Bobbie was baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost. She was a very devoted and faithful member on the seeking committee, baptism committee and as a Sunday School teacher. Bobbie loved her church and enjoyed the fellowship. She would not let anybody or anything stop her from going to the temple to worship her God until her health failed. Her favorite phrase she would say was, “I’m gonna let God, be God,” and “trust and believe him.” Bobbie had a strong, unbreakable bond with the Lord.
On Tuesday, September 3, 2019, Bobbie departed this earthly life. She is joining those who preceded her in death, to include: her parents, grandparents, sister, Kathy Lean Perry, and brother, Michael Perry.
Bobbie leaves on this earth to cherish her memories the following: her only daughter, Rashida Clark Plump (Gregory); her grandchildren, Jermon Dakari Clark, Desmond Joel Clark, and Reanna Rakel Plump; two great-grandchildren, McKenzie Rakel Clark and Kenslie Te’Neil Williams; seven sisters: Queen E. Bennett, Hilda ‘Lisa’ (Jerry) Grayer, Susan Perry (Ricky) Whittington, Dr. Jackie Williams, Amanda Perry (Ron) Brown, Annie Williams and Dr. Sharron U. Williams; three brothers: Ralph (Betty) Williams, Sr. Esq, Freddy Williams, and Philemon Williams; a sister-in-law, Francis Perry; a step-mother, Annie M. Williams, and two aunts, Violet Williams and Bernice Price. She also leaves many, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation hours will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019, from 12-7 p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home located at 886 N. Farish Street - Jackson, Mississippi
Funeral Service will be held on September 14, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Greater Bethlehem Temple, located at 1505 Robinson Road - Jackson, Mississippi 39203
Interment will follow at Richmond Cemetery - Ridgeland, Mississippi
