"Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways take notice of him and he will make your path straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
Ms. Ganae Latura Smith was born on August 1, 1989, in Pasadena, California. She fell asleep in death Sunday, April 21, 2019, surrounded by some of her family in Terry, Mississippi.
Ganae grew up in Jackson, Mississippi with her sister, aunts, and uncles always a step away. After graduating from Terry High School, Ganae went on to study at Hinds Community College where she earned an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies. Most recently, Genae enjoyed working with others at the University of Mississippi Medical Center until her health began to decline.
Ganae was a genuinely happy person, full of spunk from infancy on up. This was most evident when Genae was with family, especially the love of her life, Peyton or PJ, as she is affectionately known. She always dreamed of having her own house and a big family of her own. Though small in stature Ganae could be the life of the party always armed with a big smile, loud laughs, and jokes. She enjoyed dancing, listening to music, and watching movies. In fact, Ganae was teased for many years because as a child the radio station once went out and only static could be heard, well Ganae was the only one still dancing and smiling as if nothing had happened. Though not a 'world-renowned' chef, she always volunteered to make pasta salad and eat whatever everyone cooked.
Raided as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Ganae loved Jehovah God and was grateful for the sacrifice He made when He sent His son, Jesus, to die for all of us so that we may have the hope of being resurrected to life in paradise on Earth forever.
