"Don't weep for me, My work here is complete"

Reverend Clevie F. Snell was born on August 26, 1930, to the parents of the late Simpson and Mamie Snell in New Hebron, Mississippi. He had a typical childhood growing up in the 1930s. plowing an ole mule named Bob and picking cotton. He was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was drafted into the military on March 14th, 1951, at the age of twenty and served during the Korean Conflict. After leaving the military, he decided he didn't want to return to Mississippi and moved to Chicago, Illinois on May 3, 1953.

As a young man. he would say that he did not believe there could be a God because of that mistreatment of black people in the south. However, on January 19th, 1958 in the streets of Chicago on the corner of 54th and Wentworth he was divinely touched by the hand of God. He was saved and called to preach and joined Mt. Eagle Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. C.J. Rogers. He attended and was trained at Moody Bible School in Chicago.

Clevie Snell served faithfully while at Mt. Eagle Baptist Church until God called him back to Jackson, Mississippi in the summer of 1963. He served as pastor to Mt Wade M.B. Church in Jackson, Mississippi, Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Pearl, Mississippi, as well as, Mt. Wade M.B. Church in Terry, Mississippi. As a servant of Christ, he was truly a fisher of men. He supported numerous ministries and missionaries. He was devoted to nurturing and teaching the simple plan of salvation. He served in the Ministers Union, Macedonia Call, Camp Pioneer, John, and Vera Mae Perkins Foundations, Friends of Alcoholics, and many more.

On the afternoon of Sunday, April 21, 2019, Rev Snell transitioned from his earthly journey and entered into eternal glory to be with Creator.

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life, and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 1 John 5: 11-12 KJV
